About

The Co-alc Alliance is an independent organisation founded in January 2021 to raise awareness of increased risk of suicide in people taking alcohol and cocaine together.

There are complex issues including lack of specific research that have prevented substance use being formally linked to suicidal behaviour in the UK. Our Alliance has been informed by professionals in  the mental health and the substance use sectors, and aims to create a cohesive strategy to address the gaps in research and service provision and promote awareness and crisis planning around the elevated risk of sudden-onset suicide during the come-down, following consumption of alcohol and cocaine in socially acceptable environments.
